2023 Winter/Spring Live Online Class

  • 01/18 to 06/07  20 Classes 5:00pm-6:00pm $415/term No classes on Mar 29.Location: Online20

This is the CogAt fundamental training class for Kindergarten-1st grade. The class will build up the fundation and skills for students to take the TAG test in the next school year.

The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a multiple-choice test designed to measure a child's academic aptitude. It is used to measure cognitive development among children and is often used to identify gifted children for admissions into gifted and talented programs across the United States.

The goal of this class is to have the young students familiarize with the test format. But a more important goal to set up this class is to improve the cognitive and reasoning abilities by learning the logical and creative thinking behind the materials. The verbal skills and some figure cognitive skills in the CogAt test may take more time to build up, which are the common weak areas for most students.

  • 01/16 to 06/12  40 Monday,Wednesday 3:55pm-4:55pm $815/term No classes on Mar 27, 29 and May 29.Location: Online11

This is a class for students entering 3rd grade who already finish the Singapore primary math 3A book or work with other Math like Kumon math or IXL math, but want to improve the math problem-solving skills and prepare for the ITBS math test before starting to next level math.

A lot of students who finish the higher level of primary math are good at basic math computation but particularly weak at word problem-solving skills and therefore can't get high scores in the tests such as ITBS math tests.

In summer, it's a great time to improve on word problem-Solving skills and practice with the ITBS math to solidify/sharpen your math skills. This is much better than hurry up to the next level of primary math.

We will use the Process Skills in Problem Solving book and also use a bunch of ITBS math-related materials.

All class material will be provided by ecopy via the class page at Sunshine website.
